Please note: in order to proceed with the steps set out in this guide, you first need to set a 'baseline year'.

In order to help businesses make meaningful plans to reduce their impact, it is necessary to set a desired carbon footprint in the future.

Why is setting a target important?

It's an important aspect of our product because measuring your carbon footprint is just the necessary first step, not an end goal in itself. Ultimately, we want to help businesses make decisions that drive their emissions down. To do this we need to help our customers commit to meaningful targets, and track their progress against them.

Step by step

Step 1 - Navigate to the 'targeting' page

On the targeting page click on ‘start now’ at the top of the page.

Step 2 - Select your Net Zero target from the menu

You'll be presented with a menu of three net zero targets. Select the long term goal that fits with your plans, and, congratulations, you've set your target!

Wondering what to do next?

The next step is simply to rise to the challenge you've just set for your business!
