Wow, where to start? This is massive news for us all!

First of all, we want to let you know that none of these changes will negatively affect you as a customer (it’s only good stuff - read on for more).

What’s happened?

Today we have announced our acquisition by The Sage Group plc. Read the full press release here.

How does this affect our customers (you)?

This is where we think you should get excited. Joining Sage will allow Spherics to turbo-charge our product development and grow our service from strength to strength.

Expect to see (in months to come):

  • Rapidly developing carbon accounting product

  • More climate scientists solving challenges

  • More customers in our system (which means more proprietary data to make your footprint more accurate)

  • Increased machine learning and data science capability, enabling us to be smarter and automate more of the calculation methodology

  • Future-proofing our existence. Arguably the biggest win for you is that the engine underlying Spherics won't be going anywhere...

Will I still be able to use Xero and QuickBooks

Yes. We will also continue to add in more connectors, like Sage 50, due for release in the coming months. The platform will remain available as a standalone software solution.

Can I suggest new features?

Yes, always yes. Send your suggestions to [email protected] and, if suitable, they’ll be built into our roadmap. Please note, it is going to take some time for the impact to kick in, but the team growth starts today.

What impact does the acquisition have on Spherics?

The acquisition allows us to make a BIGGER impact. Our mission is to help millions of businesses transition to net zero. We were on our way, but in partnership with Sage, we can move much quicker, and with a brand name that millions of users already know and trust. We hope you will see the benefits too!

Why Sage?

Founder George Sandilands:

“When we first started speaking with Sage it was clear that our values were aligned, and we both deeply recognised the challenges that SMB/SMEs face when embracing climate accountability. We also had a dig around Glassdoor and their staff reviews are fantastic, sounds like they are all a lovely bunch, not just the ones I have spoken with to date! This partnership enables us to go from hundreds of customers to millions, and we’re excited.”

Will pricing change?

From yesterday, we changed our pricing to £9 per month + VAT for all customers. We will be reviewing our pricing regularly to ensure that all businesses can afford our software.
