Carbon reduction is the act of directly reducing your carbon emissions by altering your own consumption patterns, or using suppliers that create the lowest impact.

On the other hand, carbon offsetting (known as ‘neutralisation’ by the SBTi) is the act of mitigating your carbon emissions by investing in projects that capture carbon from the air. There are many ways of doing this, ranging from reforestation, to high-tech industrial processes.

Sage Earth is primarily focused on encouraging carbon reduction by supporting behaviour change with trustworthy data.
