There are a number of possible scenarios when completing this module. Follow the steps that best describes your situation:
1. Your business did not pay for any travel or hotels expenses in this period
Select “I don’t have these emissions” from the module’s front page. This confirms that your business didn’t use pay for travel or hotels during the selected quarter.
The module will be marked as complete and a 0kg CO₂e footprint will be applied for this quarter.
2. If you know the hotel location and duration of stay for hotel expenses
Select the country where the hotel was located, and enter the total number of room nights booked. Example: 5 rooms booked for 2 nights is a total of 10.
When entering a hotel stay within the United Kingdom there is a separate option for London. This is due to more detailed emissions data being available for London, leading to a more accurate carbon footprint.
3. If you don’t know the hotel location or duration of stay, or you only have travel expenses and not hotel expenses
If you have travel expenses but not hotel expenses, your footprint for this module is calculated on the transactions categorised as travel from your accounting data. In this case, choose “I confirm I have no travel and hotels expenses and I cannot provide further details”
If you have hotel expenses but don’t know the country where the hotel is located and the duration of stay, select “I confirm I have no travel and hotels expenses and I cannot provide further details”.
